Washington, D.C. Pre-Travel Symposium

Last week was the pre international travel symposium in Washington, D.C. for all of the TGC participants.  It was wonderful to finally meet the people I will travel to Brazil with in June as well as those I’ve been communicating with in the online class and on Facebook.   It was great to obtain some logistical information regarding our arrival and departure city, seeing a sample itinerary, and hearing first hand from a teacher from Brazil about the education experience there!  He shared that Brazil has many challenges in their education system as we do in California, some are the same and some different.  It will be wonderful to observe their schools first hand!
This experience was amazing and left me thinking of how to bring global education back to my school and classroom even more.   With this said, with every question I have there are not as many answers, but more questions such as….How to implement? Who else on my campus and district is interested in such an endeavor?  How can we communicate to parents and students the necessity? How can we implement with the budgetary concerns that are plaguing education currently? And so many more!  I guess really all I can do is try to implement in my class and share my experiences with others.

I’m hoping that others will follow my blog and travel vicariously to Brazil with me, and the adventures that accompany it.
